First seen in 1947, the legendary Lionel GG-1 is one of the most popular locomotives in the company's nearly 100-year history. This die-cast metal ornament captures the iconic Pennsylvania Railroad GG-1 Electric Locomotive (#4907) that revolutionized passenger rail in the northeast. The real GG-1 was developed in the 1930s to speed passenger trains through northeastern rail corridors. Known for its streamlined art deco design by Raymond Loewy, the "Pennsy Electric" earned a reputation for efficiency, toughness, and dependability over more than 50 years of service.
